The Second Summer of the Sisterhood

Hello everyone! I am so sorry for not posting any blogs, I have been extremely busy. Before I start today's blog I would like to point out a few things. First of all, instead of posting blogs every Monday at 8:30 AM, I decided that Sundays at noon will be my new time and day to post the blogs. Lastly, since I am changing the day, I think I will switch up the days by doing movies one Sunday and books the next. I will either switch it up every Sunday or every other Sunday. We will just wait and see! Anyway, let's get on with the blogging!

The book I'm going to be talking about today is apart of a four book series. It is called The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Instead of talking about the first book, I will actually talking about the second book: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood. The first and second book of this series was made into movies. That personally I have never seen. I have only read the first book and I am reading the second one currently. I would recommend this book to girls the ages twelve and older. But mainly to the middle school and high school girls, because this book is about friendship and keeping it together no matter how far away you are from friends. I think it would help influence girls who read this story to try and keep your friendships together.

The title of this book explains the time frame of this story. After their first summer of being apart and having crazy adventures the girls get ready to have another great summer. The girls find out that Tibby is going to a film program in Virgina for the summer. While Lena and Carmen are staying home in Washington, D.C. But what about little old Bridget? She starts to stay home but abruptly finds some letters that were sent to her from a Greta Randolph and decides to go to Alabama to see and talk to this Greta Randolph. Hence, the pants come out for another summer. What will Carmen and Lena do at home? How will Tibby's film program go? Who is this Greta Randolph? Will Bridget ever meet her? Find out by reading this series! Which can be found at your local library! Thank you for reading! Comment if you want me to blog about a certain book or movie. Tell me if you have any suggestions.

And don't forget the rules of the pants! See Ya!

Divergent

Hello readers! Long time no write!! Haha, well today I'm going to talk about the book/movie Divergent. Divergent was published on April 25th, 2011 and was written by Veronica Roth. There are three books in the series: Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant. (In the right top corner are the covers of each book.) The movie was directed by Neil Burger and came out on March 21st. In Divergent, it takes place in Chicago but it's run-down and is separated in five factions. (Fact-ions not fractions.) Each faction has it's own name and own belief. (These following words are actually in the dictionary.)

The first faction is: Abnegation, they believe in being selfless. Next faction is: Amity, they believe in being peaceful, being trustful, being kind, being forgiving, and being self-sufficient. Next, we have: Candor, they believe in being honest all the time and believe that they should NEVER lie. Next one is: Erudite, they believe in knowledge and intelligence. Last but not least: Dauntless, their beliefs are being brave and overcoming your fears.

Now, onto the book. (Finally!) Sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior lives in the faction of Abnegation with her Mom, Dad, and brother, named Caleb who is also sixteen years old. Today, they will be taking a test that's called the aptitude test which determines what faction they will belong to. When they find out something went wrong with Beatrice's test, they find out that she is in BIG trouble. What faction will she choose? Will she choose the right one? You'll have to find out when you read it. I'm sorry this blog was so long and I hope you liked it! But, before I go, I just wanted to tell you that in my opinion, the book was better then the movie and one of my favorite quotes from the book is "Faction before blood."  This is Lil Miss Critic signing off. Bye! :)

Frozen

Hi guys! How are you today? Before I start, check out my book on Wattpad, it is called When Two Become One and sorry I didn't do my blog last week I was really busy. Okay let's get on with the blogging! This week, I'm switching to........................ MOVIES!! Today's movie is Frozen, I fell in love with this movie but I wasn't expecting it to be a musical. (Not really, just a lot of singing.)Frozen was released on November 27, 2013 and was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. It was also rated PG. The movie runs for 108 minutes (1 hour and 48 minutes.) As I said before, it was kind of like a musical. The music was composed by Christophe Beck. In my opinion, Let it Go, (sung by Demi Lovato on the Frozen soundtrack) was the most catchy and best song in the movie.

Frozen is about two sisters named Anna and Elsa. (Elsa has the voice of Idina Menzel. Anna has the voice of Kristen Bell.) Also Elsa is the older sister. Elsa was born with ice powers, when Elsa and Anna were younger Anna knew about her powers. Later on, when they're older, Anna forgets that Elsa has ice powers. (I'm not going to tell you how and why you'll just have to find out yourself.) When Anna forgot Elsa has ice powers, Elsa had to stay in her room all the time and couldn't play/spend time with her sister. So Elsa and her sister had grown apart. They had grown apart even more when their parents died in a ship accident. When the day comes for Elsa to become queen, everyone knows and sees her ice powers and thinks she is a bad person. So she runs away to never to be seen. Anna goes to search for her sister and finds friends on her way. But, bad things happened in their little town of Arendelle. Will Elsa come back and fix everything? Will it ever be the same? You will have to go to your local movie theater to see.

Frozen is an emotional movie, even though you know that in the the end it will all turn out find in the end, it makes you feel a little sad when certain bad things happened. Frozen won many awards but here's two main ones, Golden Globe award for Best Animated Feature Film. Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Animated Feature. I really hope you go see this movie really soon. It is one of my favorite animated movies. This is Lil Miss Critic signing off. Good-Bye!

Hannah's Journal

Before I start this blog, I wanted to say that I will be putting up new blogs every Monday morning at 8:30 A.M, but I probably will put short little blogs during the week. Okay onto the blogging. Today I read a book called Hannah's Journal: The Story of an Immigrant Girl. The author of this book is Marissa Moss. (Author of the Amelia Notebook books.)

This story is about a Jewish-Russian girl named Hannah. Her family needs her to go to America so they can have a better life, she has to go with her cousin Esther, and along the way meets a new friend named Samuel. Will they finally make it to America? How does Esther and Hannah handle the journey? When do they meet Samuel? You will have to find out when you read the book. I absolutely loved this short novel. I recommend this book for people nine and up. Lil Miss Critic signing off. See you next Monday morning!!

Wattpad

Hello everyone, Lil Miss Critic here. Have you ever read a book series that you love and never wanted it to end?? Well I have the solution to that! There's an app called wattpad, you can either go to their website, www.wattpad.com or if you have a phone or tablet you can go to your app store or play store. (Where ever you buy your apps from.)

Basically wattpad has fan-fictions of books like Hunger Games or Twilight, but they also have the real books and made up books. On wattpad, if you have a facebook account you can sign up with that or you can create a user name and password. But you will need an email address also.

For me, one of my favorite book series is The Hunger Games, so I always look the series up. Also on wattpad, you can create a book. Cool! What an awesome app, well if you sign up I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for reading, but before you go if you like fashion, check out my sister's blog. www.looksgoodonu.blogspot.com
